Bug Description

name: ipkg

description: iPKG is a very lightweight package management system. It was designed for Linux installations with severe storage limitations such as handheld computers. iPKG is more than just an embedded Linux flash image builder, (although it does that fairly well). It also allows for dynamic installation/removal of packages on a running system.

Thinking that "Nomininate for release" was some kind of voting mechanisim I nominated it for release. seems it may have been inappropriate. Sorry.

Well, it might be possible to package it for Jaunty, but it definately won't happen for Intrepid (unless it is backported from Jaunty)

Has any progress happened on this towards including ipkg in Karmic?

I have set it to invalid. One does not want to run ipkg on an Ubuntu distro which is managed by dpkg. One would like to run okpg-utils (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/498501) or ipkg-utils in order to build or extract opkg or ipkg packages vor mobile platforms.
