Bug Description

The laptop is a Dell Latitude D600 and I'm using 8.10.

Fairly regularly the cursor won't interact with what it is pointed at. It will move, but the clicks don't register. Mainly this applies to application windows, but sometimes it is the same for the panel and desktop.

dmesg and /var/log/messages have:

Per a decision made by the Ubuntu Kernel Team, bugs will longer be assigned to the ubuntu-kernel-team in Launchpad as part of the bug triage process. The ubuntu-kernel-team is being unassigned from this bug report. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies for more information. Thanks.

Just did a fresh install of Jaunty official release 9.04 and this bug is still there, and a lot more prevalent. I now have to ctrl-alt F1 to open a new VT, then sudo shutdown -r now quite often since mouse can't click on X windows and ctrl backspace doesn't restart X anymore.
