kjots: autosave does not always work

When editing a page in kjots (4.1.3), changes are not always automatically saved. Running kjots standalone or in Kontact makes no difference.

Thanks for reporting this bug. I tried to reproduce it and was unable to do so. Could you be a bit more specific about your usecase.
What I did was:
Create a page.
Make some changes
Quit KJots
Open KJots
Make more changes
Close Kjots

I repeated this 4-5 times and each time my changes were saved. You said that saving only fails sometimes. Roughly how often do you think this is? If you go to Settings > Configure KJots what autosave settings do you have? My system shows the 'Save periodically' checkbox ticked and the interval set to 5 minutes.

Being more specific is difficult. I have this problem for some time now. This morning, nothing I added or removed in existing pages was saved, even after keeping kjots open for more than 5 minutes.
If I try to reproduce the problem now, it no longer works. I added a new page somewhere and added some text to it. I also typed more in the page that troubled me this morning. Now everything was saved.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I really can't say when kjots will save and when not. The only thing I can see is that if kjots doesn't want to save, it will also not save if I close and reopen the program.
At this moment my workaround is typing the stuff in kate, and saving it as a text file. From time to time I copy the text to Kjots and check if it is saved. This can take a day or two.

If you have any ideas about how to debug this, I'll gladly help.

I am finally able to reproduce this.

There are 2 situations:
- I add or remove text in a page: will never be saved!
- I add a new page and add or remove text from any Kjots page. Kjots saves as
expected.

So, my new workaround is:
- add empty page anywhere
- start typing
- remove new empty page

Removing a page has no influence on wether kjots will save or not. In fact, if
I want to remove a page, I have to add one first.

Could anybody who is experiencing this bug test to see if it is still an issue in KDE 4.2?
