OpenID 404

Bug Description

Trying to log in with OpenID or trying to add an OpenID to an existing account causes a 404 when redirected back to SU.

http://spreadubuntu.neomenlo.org/en/user/57/openid?openid.assoc_handle=<<<TRUNCATED FOR SECURITY/BREVITY>>>

This may not be a big deal now, since we are not using the LP OpenID module that we will be switching to. However, it probably has something to do with htacces, so it will probably continue even with a different module.

It's worthwhile to try it with another OpenID plugin still.

We'll see how this develops.

This problem is apparently only with users who have previously registered.

There is no error message displayed if there is a conflict with email addresses. I am not yet aware of how to fix this, as I have tried changing the corresponding email address and there is still an error.

I have asked a new launchpad user to register on the upgraded spreadubuntu site and it worked for them.

It is not yet resolved, but is not critical as it can only possibly effect the existing _190_ users we have collected, assuming that they used the same email address for SU as they do for Launchpad.

Unfortunately due to confusion, the other LP user who i had try to login used the drupal login method, not the launchpad method.

This was a problem with mod_security on our current host: hostgator.
This could happen again on other hosts, and is not exclusive to code on this projects. The mod_security rule prevented even Drupal5 and Drupal6 from having any working openid. I did not get a chance to test it, but it may not even be exclusive to drupal's openid implementation.
