proprietary driver installer crash after installation on nVidia driver

Bug Description

Kubuntu 8.10 fresh install on LVM

Finished the normal installation, when I used the automated proprietary driver installer from the tray, after the installation I've reported the crash.

The applet seems however to complete the installation and displays the restart button as expected.

Please try to obtain a backtrace following the instructions at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and upload the backtrace (as an attachment) to the bug report. This will greatly help us in tracking down your problem. Which version of the Nvidia drivers were you installing? Does recent updates help with this issue?
