Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

google homepage, search, results, choose one, all ok so far, then redirects via copybook.com to random, not particularly nice search engines I have not come across before. Is this a spyware hijack on Mozilla or something else?

This sounds like DNS tricks -- the described behavior is not the default in Ubuntu. Perhaps OpenDNS is being used somewhere in your network?

I was getting webeasysearch.com results through my Jaunty box when I click the top result in Google.com. For example, I search for "screenhunter" and it returns the author's page "wisdom-soft.com/products/screenhunter_free.htm" as the top result (the URL is displayed in green at the bottom of the result). And when I hover over it, it displays wisdom-soft.com in the status bar. But when I click it, it goes to webeasysearch.com's results for screenhunter.
I tested it from a Windows box on the same network and it went straight to wisdom-soft.com. Now, 15 minutes later, my Jaunty box is also going to wisdom-soft.com. Does this sound like DNS tricks too?
