Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-nettool

with ubuntu installed on my linux aspire one, the onboard hardware doesnt seem to work all the time. when I plug in an external wireless adaptor (belkin) it works just fine abd can get on internet.
Also since installing ubuntu the card reader doesnt work and the switch light for the wired to wireless switch doesnt work.
Not too bothered about the last two probs but the hardware prob is a big one.
Regards
Steve.

thanks for the report, however gnome-nettool is not the right package for this report.

Quite possibly a dupe of #290991.

I have an Aspire One (AR2425 chip), and *was* experiencing this occasionally - but not since upgrading to the 2.6.27-10 / -11 kernel and linux-backports-modules from intrepid-proposed. I hesitate to say "fixed", since I could never reproduce reliably, but it seems worth a try for other people experiencing the same problem.

Thank you for that Max.

I've fixed committed this bug as it no-longer seems to be an issue

I don't think "Fix Committed" is an accurate status, since no particular fix was determined, let alone committed.
I'll close this bug as "Invalid" for now, on the basis that it contains insufficient information to determine a root cause, and the last comment from the original reporter hints that they may no longer be experiencing the problem with the latest intrepid kernel packages.

Naturally, please re-open if there's a problem remaining that needs further investigation.
