Bug Description

Binary package hint: mythtv

kubuntu 8.10 x86 Wubi install
pentium D ati video

mythtv playback is very slow freezing form moments, and out of phase with sound.
Disabling desktop effects in kde makes video better but still does not match sound.
Mplayer also has problems, if desktop effects are disabled video look ok but completely out of phase with video making it un usable.
same hardware no problems with gutsy , but had this same type of problems with hardy so never made the change, problem continues with 8.10

might be related with this: audio recording is not working correctly. when i record something and playback it is reproduced much quicker making a chipmunk sound. this happened in skype test call and also in audacity.

Howdy, and thank you for taking the time to help improve Mythbuntu by reporting your issue. I am closing this ticket because it sounds like a problem with either the video profile that is selected, or else an overloaded cpu due to other items on the system. If you still have trouble after trying the Slim profile and optimizing other items, members of the Mythbuntu forum (http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=301) would likely be able to help narrow down the issue better.
