Bug Description

When I try to suspend on my FSC Amilo Pro V2030 notebook it shuts down correctly. When the laptop is switched off the power led blinks, after switching it on again only a black screen appears.

I already tried to add resume=/dev/sda1 (sda1 is my swap partition) to my kernel parameters.

I tried Kubuntu Dapper and Breezy without success.

ok - I enabled Suspend to Ram by mistake.

After I disabled Suspend to Ram and enabled Suspend to Disk I am at that point:

The machine does not switch off after suspending to disk. There is only a black screen.

Now I was able to enable verbose mode. I made a photo which I will attach.

The messages seem to indicate a BIOS bug. I'd have to confer.

Can you try going back to suspend to ram and see if not switching off power allows you to suspend/resume properly?

Sorry for attaching into the wrong bugreport.

Switching off power does not work, either.

I am experiencing same machine behaviour. So, what can we do? I am willing to test, but I need some skilled governor :) to manage my steps.

This problem is very very important to me.

How can I help? Maybe, post dsdt, post fixed dsdt, ...?

Does leaving everything like it was and changing SAVE_VBE_STATE to false in /etc/default/acpi-support, solve the issue?

Wow, yeah. it now works fine (Suspend to Ram).

But after resuming, my WLAN does not work anymore. i have to remodprobe bcm43xx. This may be caused by NetworkManager, as far as i know this is a known problem.

Thanks!

Then this is not a kernel problem but a duplicate of bug #11919

I do not really know if the duplicate status is right. See http://people.freedesktop.org/~hughsient/quirk/

I submitted a patch to hal-info, it may work now.
