Bug Description

I think this picture spells it out pretty clearly:

   mozilla | 1.1.9+nobinonly-0ubuntu1 | hardy/universe | all
   mozilla | 1.1.12+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1 | hardy-security/universe | all
   mozilla | 1.1.12+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1 | hardy-updates/universe | all

 seamonkey | 1.1.12+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1 | hardy-security/universe | source, all
 seamonkey | 1.1.12+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1 | hardy-updates/universe | source, all

Package: mozilla
Version: 1.1.12+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1
Depends: seamonkey
Conflicts:

Package: seamonkey
Version: 1.1.12+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1
Depends: seamonkey-browser, seamonkey-mailnews
Conflicts: iceape (<< 1.1.6), mozilla (<< 2:1.8)

In summary:

mozilla depends on seamonkey, but seamonkey conflicts with the version of mozilla available, so it can't be installed.

Oh yeah, I filed this because:

16:14 < Caesar> Hi, it looks like there's a dependency issue between the
                mozilla and seamonkey packages in hardy-{updates,security}
16:14 < Caesar> Should I file a bug against both packages?
16:15 < kees> Caesar: yes, please.
16:15 < kees> Caesar: please mark it a security issue, and then flag it as
              public.
16:16 < Caesar> kees: okay

As I understand it, this has been fixed. Are you still seeing this problem on your system?

I believe we're still seeing it. What version of mozilla was this supposed to have been fixed in?

I was able to reproduce this on Intrepid. Steps to reproduce:
1) sudo aptitude install seamonkey
2) sudo aptitude install mozilla
step 2 will tell you about the broken dependency

marking as confirmed, importance low

After talking with Alexander we decided this isn't an Important. The are
other ways to install it. However if it doesnt land in 1.1.14 ubuntu1
push, we will push the fix in ubuntu2. It's a busy time for us during
just before/just after Feature Freeze.
Please try installing it with Iceape package and let me know if it
suffers from same issue.
We are going to fix this in Seamonkey as apposed to fixing it in
iceape/mozilla.
