Open/Save dialog boxes sometimes don't expand

Bug Description

Some the open/save dialog boxes in programs in Gnome do not expand to a usable size. I only notice this behavior in Ubuntu 8.10 and not earlier version of Ubuntu.

How could this be a duplicate of a bug that predates Hardy? I think there are separate issues here, and this one seems to be a regression.

Deed is done, and that bug seems to account for this issue, but I don't think it was a duplicate in the first place.

Bug 75324 you're talking about is an old one BUT it's been opened again about the exact problem you're experiencing. It's appeared in Intrepid and should be solved soon as we have patches for that. Thanks for reporting bugs, anyway!
