1. Yes it's reproducible, just right click on any archive
2. Right Click on any archive or iso file and select "open with..." option
3. I tried the same with the guest account in Intrepid and the same bug took place

the issue seems to be a configuration issue on your installation, did you add a menu item for this action before than ubuntu did?

Nope, I didn't. It just came out like that out of the box...

could you look to the desktop files you have installed in /usr/share/applications /usr/local/share and .local which correspond to the description?
