ubuntu 8.10
gnome 2.24.1. /kernel 2.6.27-8-generic (#1 SMP Thu Nov 6 17:33:54 UTC 2008)
when i select a word or phrase in an open browser file a menu bar with several weblinks (google, yahoo, etc) appears and the entire system simply hungs and i'm unable to remove or exit from the menu bar or the current window/ webpage. it becomes impossible to navigate to other windows or other applications.
in this case i've had to reset the computer to be able to get back to work.

Third party extensions can sometimes cause bad behaviors in Firefox. It seems like you have multiple dictionary extensions that might be causing the issue. Please try this with a new profile to determine if it's a Firefox problem or due to your extensions. You can then add your extensions back one by one until you discover the one that is not working. /wiki.ubuntu. com/MozillaTeam /Bugs?action= show&redirect= DebuggingFirefo x#Try%20with% 20a%20new% 20profile
