firefox package too lot of dependencies

I tried to install Firefox on Kubuntu 8.10
( installed from CD) ...

I don't know, is it problem of invalid dependencies, or architectural problem, but, I think, it's bug, if I need download and install synaptic and lot of other software I don't need, for use firefox.
