Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

I am running OOo 2.4 on Ubuntu 8.10, latest updated version. running it as root, i have no problems.

But when the other user opens OO, no matter if Writer or something else, the menue bars are there, but do not display the letters. The only things that can be seen are the "_" from the single letter in each word (eg the "_" from under the F from File). If u slide over these "_", for a very short moment the whole word will blink up (less than a second). I restarted the programs, the system - won't help. It doesn't matter if it is full or reduced size either.

Any suggestions? Thank you!
