[g45] Preferred resolution not default on IntelR GM45

Bug Description

With default xorg.conf, X does not choose the preferred resolution (1280x800) for the IntelR GM45 controller, but defaults to 1024x768.

xrandr shows that 1280x800 is preferred, but it is not available as a choice in gnome-display-properties. Xorg.0.log attached.

Is the VGA-output connected? The driver at least thinks so, and uses 10x7 because of it.

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.
