8.15-4ubuntu1, at least on ia64.
$ gs-gpl
GPL Ghostscript 8.15: Can't find initialization file gs_init.ps.
gs-esp does work, this bug is hidden, because the gs-esp alternative has a higher priority than gs-gpl.

I investigated this and it seems to have been a build problem of some
kind. My rebuild, and the rebuild by the buildds caused by my upload
of 8.15-4ubuntu2, seem to have fixed it.
