Bug Description
I have a Siemens Lifebook S6010 with an Intel 82830 Graphic Chipset. With Ubuntu 8.10 the screen is a mess. Installtion with the Live CD is impossible. The installation must be made with Alternate CD. With 8.04 I had the same problem but with the xorg.conf of Ubuntu 7.10 it was finally OK. But now, this workaround doesn't work anymore.
Please find included a zip file file containing: xorg.conf (the one I used with 8.04), Xorg.0.log, lshw, lshw -short, lspci, lspci -vvnn

I have the same problem with the Fujitsu Siemens S6010. It currently works fine with Kubuntu 8.04 (and the i810 driver), but I can't upgrade anymore.
I just tried the jaunty alpha 4 live CD, but can't get a graphical display with it. Failsave doesn't work too.
