Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Trying to start Firefox in Kubuntu Intrepid returns:

"Cannot mix incompatible Qt libraries"

and fails to start. There is an upstream bug reported: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172163

Bug is critical as Firefox doesn't work in the current Kubuntu. Does anybody test these things before its released?

Are you running KDE nightlies? I had this error because the nightly KDE messed up my Qt config. To fix this, you need to (re)move your Trolltech.conf file so a new one can be built, like the KDE bug report says:

$ mv ~/.config/Trolltech.conf ~/Desktop/Trolltech-broken.conf

Then run your Qt application. If you want to see what happened:

$ diff ~/Desktop/Trolltech-broken.conf ~/.config/Trolltech.conf

Thank you for the late reply. Your theory seems quite likely the case, however because of ongoing issues with Ubuntu and lack of fixing bugs, I have moved to PC-BSD permanently.

I also wonder what it has to do with firefox since it runs fine on KDE here.
