Bug Description

Using Compiz Config i found a bug. The bug can be reproduced by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Window Picker (in my system replaced by F12). The system hanged and a black screen appeared with the cursor blinking. That's it!!! =)

Crtl + alt + F* shortcuts are used for switching virtual terminals, or graphical user sessions if they are available.
But perhaps the Compiz Config utility should not accept crtl + alt + F* shortcuts since they are already taken by the system.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

This is not an issue with compiz as these are global shortcuts dealing with virtual terminal switching. The issue lies in the fact that these global shortcuts are implemented in the first place. There are efforts being led to relieve the desktop of these shortcuts.

In the meantime, compiz is not the offender; if anything is to blame, it's the compiz settings manager for accepting these shortcuts (in which case, feel free to reassign this bug and update the description)
