Bug Description

OS ver: Ubuntu 8.10, desktop edition, final.

Created USB flash drive install using a script found here: www.pendrivelinux.com/download/u810/u810.sh. Ran updates (using package manager icon) but the new kernel failed to install.

I know that running Ubuntu from a USB flash drive is not the normal way of running it, but it would be good if it updated.
