Bug Description

I had a fresh install of Dapper flight 3 just this morning, and i found the following problem:
gaim works perfectly with all the protocols but Msn, if i activate Msn as soon as it connects the gaim main window closes and the program exits.
The only way to make gaim work is not connecting to Msn protocol.
I will try to update by update manager and see if this helps.

Thanks for the report.

Could you provide some more information, please? Take a look at the following page on how to get some useful information from the crash:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash

Before you try that, you might like to try running gaim from the terminal. When it crashes, it might output some useful error text on the terminal, which you can copy into this bug.

this is the terminal output from gaim:

Thank you, according to the backtrace that's a duplicate of bug #28640 which is a libc issue
