Both ume-launcher and desktop show up in app switcher

On Hardy, I am noticing that both the ume-launcher and Desktop show up in the application switcher (ALT-TAB). It is convenient to have to switch back to the desktop/ume-launcher like this, but it seems superfluous to have both show up. I think that the ume-launcher is seen as an application such as firefox or thunderbird by the application switcher, which it isn't really.
I have tries Intrepid for a bit, but switched back to Hardy without actually looking at this behavior so I'm not sure it also occurs in Intrepid.
