Bug Description

According to the Tomboy's Help, when I activate the "Sticky Notes Importer" addin, there should appear an "inport" option at "tools" menu, but it doesn't.

confirmed, according to the manual: "When this add-in is installed, the Tools menu will have the Import from Sticky Notes option available." but there's no such item on the tools menu, will look upstream thanks for reporting.

got it working, is your sticky notes applet running before starting tomboy? that makes it work for me and also added the sticky notes i have on tomboy right away, does that works for you?

I just tried in that way (start sticky notes first and then tomboy)
but it didn't work either, I don't have the import option in my tools
menu.
Just in case, I have my system in Spanish (so, there is a
"Herramientas" menu instead of "Tools"). I don't know if that can be
the problem or not.

I found it! It is at "Tool" button in each note, not in the "Tool"
menu at the main window! So, the bug is not it the addin but its help
:)

could you try if that's still an issue in jaunty? is the issue a mismatch between instructions and software?

Seb, FYI, Still this way in Karmic. I knew it was somewhere, but I had to search for a while before I found this thread.

Apparently there is still a problem with the add-ins and the Tools menu. No matter what I do, I can't seem to be able to get Sticky Notes Importer or any other add-in to appear in the Tools menu. There is just one item, Synchronize Notes.

No error messages appear. When I start Tomboy from a terminal window, it just outputs this:

[INFO 11:05:18.358] Initializing Mono.Addins

Unfortunately this is still a problem in 10.04 and Tomboy 1.2.1, on both computers I use to run Tomboy.

Timo you need to:

1) Have sticky notes from the sticky notes applet already
2) Have the Sticky Notes Import applet enabled
3) Select Tools -> Import Sticky Notes from any note (not from the Search window, which it sounds to me is where you're looking)

BTW, you can always get more output from Tomboy when you run with --debug

By the way, I think it's dumb that we have the menu item in the note's Tools menu, and not the Search one. It should be reversed. An upstream bug asking for that change would be welcome.
