Bug Description

Binary package hint: digikam

On a fresh installation of Ubuntu 8.10, "apt-get install digikam" wants to install a slew of other applications, including both kdebase-bin, dolphin and konqueror, k3b, and most (if not all) of qt4.

It seems somewhat excessive. 86 packages in total, not including suggested or recommended packages. Does digikam really need to install two file managers when nautilus is already installed?

In Ubuntu 8.10 apt was changed to install recommends by default. You can install applications without recommends by installing them like this:
sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends digikam
