warty-final-ubuntu.png is no png file

Binary package hint: ubuntu-wallpapers

/usr/share/backgrounds/warty-final-ubuntu.png , which belongs to ubuntu-wallpapers and is the default wallpaper for all ubuntus (at least hardy and intrepid(?)) - is no png file.
If you open it with eog, it says that it is no png file.

If you rename it to warty-final-ubuntu.jpg - it works.

Maybe this is intended as copy protection, but then this is very bad protection ;-)

On Hardy there is no problem, there the file is a png as indicated by the following command on a terminal:
$ file /usr/share/backgrounds/warty-final-ubuntu.png
/usr/share/backgrounds/warty-final-ubuntu.png: PNG image data, 1600 x 1200, 8-bit/color RGBA, non-interlaced

Can somebody confirm if this is a problem on Intrepid?
