Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

When configuring a VPN connection, one can click the "Advanced..." button which brings up the nm-connection-editor". Here, selecting "Use Point-to-Point encryption (MPPE)", one can choose between "All Available (Default)", "128-bit (most secure)" and "40-bit (less secure)" as the "Security" setting.
Only the first one seems to be "remembered" upon clicking the "OK" button. If one selects one of the other 2 possibilities (selecting a specific security level), then presses the "OK" button to return to the VPN configuration and finally re-presses the "Advanced..." button, the option "Use Point-to-Point encryption (MPPE)" is disabled...

I've had a look in /var/log/syslog during a restart of the network applet and while performing the steps to reproduce the bug.
There was nothing special in there, as I'd expect with an issue that 's very likely a bug in the user interface...

As an aside, it still seems very easy to reproduce the problem - anyone else having the same problem?

i think thats fixed in 0.7 final. try the intrepid packages in ~network-manager team PPA or the main jaunty packages if you have upgraded yet.
