New initramfs fails to mount my rootfs

Bug Description

I upgraded to dapper, and when I rebooted and tried to boot, I got this error...

ALERT! /dev/hda1 does not exists, Dropping to shell

After fiddling around I figured that the ide-* modules ware not loaded. I regenerated the initrd image after putting the modules in /etc/mkinitramfs/modules and still doesn't work. From busybox you can see that the modules are loaded but there are no corresponding files in /dev. Reloading the modules from busybox creates those files and I can mount the root partition.

Thanks for the report.

Could you provide some more information? What hardware are you are using? Is this the latest Dapper? Are you running a dual-boot system?

Thanks

P.S I reduced the severity for the time being, while the bug is unconfirmed.
