Bug Description
Binary package hint: compiz-core
Everytime I log in Ubuntu 8.10, i get a black screen. It's caused by the compiz, and compiz-core packages. when i delete them in rescure mode, i am able to log in.
Here's my system:
Sony VAIO
Intel Pentium 4, 2.4 GHz
768 MB memory
80 GB + 17.2 GB HDD
Built in 2003
Note: Compiz worked fine with my computer in 8.04.
This is the first time i reported a bug, so i hope i'm not doing anything wrong.
Would really appreciate a fix, because this makes the Live CD unbootable for me.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
