Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
I was following the instructions here: http://
At some point in the process, I got an error about Evolution event notifier (something about Corba unable to connect?).
Later, I got an error that python-setuptools was unable to install (similar to #236798).
I think I'm at the end of "Installing Upgrades" and the upgrade manager has prompted me to create this bug. After I clicked "Report Problem", it prompts me to do the same for the python-setuptools package.
I think I was able to recover from the python-setuptools problem, but I'm not sure if the rest of the upgrades completed successfully. I'm going to submit this bug and return here after confirming that the upgrade completed.

Title: package update-manager 1:0.93.34 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: SystemError in cache.commit(): E:Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
Uname: Linux 2.6.24-21-generic x86_64
I was able to reboot the system, and the update manager reports that my system is up to date... but when I select System | About Ubuntu, the text says, "Thank you for your interest in Ubuntu - the - released in ."
Contrary to the error message, it appears as if update-manager did in fact install/upgrade successfully:
$ sudo dpkg -s update-manager
Package: update-manager
Status: install ok installed
...
Version: 1:0.93.34
...
If the About text is not updated with the version, what else might have been missed in the upgrade?
