Bug Description

When I log in then opengl works fine.
But when I switch user (and I am on VT8 / screen :20.0 - btw, why it is not just screen :1 ?) then OpenGL works around x20 slower.
If I switch to the same user, but this time he is on VT7 / screen :0 then all works fast.

direct rendering: Yes (glxinfo)

Ubuntu 8.10 intel 64 bit acer laptop X3100 gfx

I attached full glxinfo.

that's right, needs quite a few changes until it works.

Why is this just a wish-list?

Having OpenGL x20 slower is a High importance (ok, at least Medium - considering that using 2 desktops is less popular)

I think that this should work in Lucid - it certainly seems to for my X4500 intel chip. Can you please retest?
