Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

The user should be able to create a file that contains his preferred options for installing Ubuntu such as language, keyboard, user name, partitioning, etc. Fedora has this, it is called kickstart:
http://docs.fedoraproject.org/install-guide/f9/en_US/sn-automating-installation.html

Changed in ubiquity (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid

Why is this invalid? Other distros have it, and for someone who does several Ubuntu installs a week (I do that after releases) it could be a huge time saver.

What is invalid?

Hi dotancohen

Since what you submitted is not really a bug, or a problem, but rather an idea to improve Ubuntu, you are invited to post your idea in Ubuntu Brainstorm at http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/ where it can be discussed, voted by the community and reviewed by developers.

There are various was to re-master CD images and options for network installs for bulk deployment. However, I myself agree with what you say, it should be simple in application and well documented.
