testing needed for add new user

Things that need to be tested for adding a user
    - no email given
    - no full name given
    - no essay given
    - no password given
    - two password instances don't match
    - with digests on

Create a list with private rosters (I think that is our default) and someone who is already subscribed should try to subscribe. Paste the message into this report (it should be pretty ambiguous).

Try subscribing the list to the list (mostly as a way to see if that code does something bizarre or not.). it should fail (I think putting an error message on the page) and then write something to the 'mischief' log.

Try confirming a subscription request via email also.

11/14/08 (Kathy): Tested all instances above and all passed with one questionable. See details below.

- no email given (Pass. Results returned a message - You must supply a valid email address.)

- no full name given (Pass. Received an email to confirm I want to be added. Clicked on link provided to confirm. In confirmation page, even though it prompts you to enter real name, it is not a required field. Left real name field blank, and clicked on subscribe button. Got email saying waiting for moderator approval. Moderator approved, and received welcome email message.)

- no essay given (Not sure if this is considered fail or pass. Should essay field be required? At least have the user enter something instead of leaving it totally blank. I left essay blank and received an email to confirm I want to be added. Clicked on link provided to confirm. Clicked on subscribe button. Got email saying waiting for moderator approval. Moderator rejects because Essay column has no content. User receives email with reject reason.)

- no password given (Pass. Okay to leave password blank. Once subscription is approved, user is given a random password generated by the system in the welcome email.)

- two password instances don't match (Pass. Results returned a message - Your passwords did not match.)

- with digests on (Pass. Checked digest box when subscribing. Everything shows digest set correctly in Admin page.)

- subscribe with an already subscribed email address (Pass. Received a Mailman Privacy Alert via email stating "… address already subscribed to mailing list". )

- subscribe using the list itself (Pass. Results returned a message - You may not subscribe a list to itself! I tried using "<email address hidden>", "<email address hidden>", and "<email address hidden>" - All with same resulting message.)

Good, it passed all the tests. the issue with the empty essay is a separate known problem that I have as a separate bug on the wishlist, since we don't have to have that change done for this release (it's been there all along and only causes grief about once a year)
