mute light always on after suspend on hp 6710b

When I put my laptop to suspend the mute light on the laptop is always on after I resume. The gnome volume applet shows though, that the laptop is not muted which is correct. If the laptop is muted when it goes into suspend it shows it correctly after resume. This worked correctly previously in Ubuntu 8.04. My laptop is an hp 6710b running Ubuntu 8.10.

Hi,
Thanks for providing the above info, can you please also attach the following as requested at DebuggingACPI:
Tarball of /proc/acpi directory. You can't just tar all files because their content sometimes changes etc.
cp -r /proc/acpi /tmp
tar -cvjf ~/acpi.tar.bz /tmp/acpi
And then attach the acpi.tar.bz file from your home directory.

Davíð have you checked if the "mute light on after resume" still persists in Karmic? I own the same laptop as you and haven't had the problem.

$ lsb_release -d -c
