Bug Description
Binary package hint: kde4-core
Adept suddenly informed me that I had no disk space left on my / partition. I have a separated home partition, with root having a full 10 GB of space. I executed "sudo find / -type f -size +1G -exec ls -lh {} \;" to find the large violating files. The two interesting items were:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3.0G 2008-11-09 08:27 /var/log/kdm.log.1
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3.2G 2008-11-09 06:41 /var/log/kdm.log
I am running a Kubuntu 8.10 (with kde4) install since launch day, fresh updates, all programs installed via the repository. Have kde4 desktop effects enabled, and use many kde apps, including korganizer, amarok, kopete, etc.
Please let me know if any other information is required.
Thanks,
Jim
1) jecortez@
Description: Ubuntu 8.10
Release: 8.10
2) Assuming kde4-base, seems to be a logging issue
3) expected smaller logs
4) found 3GB large logs, filling my root partition
Is there any pattern to the information in the log files? Any repetition of similar lines? Could you attach the first 100 lines of the log as a text file? Thanks.
