Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager-vpnc

Which makes quite impossible to connect to VPN servers supporting DES as a default encryption standard. A checkbox would be nice :) although it might be a fair to simply supply sort of additional (advanced) settings allowing at least limited edition of vpnc call parameters line.

baheviour might be seen in latest Ubuntu 8.10 (interpid) version:
network-manager-vpnc_0.7~~svn20081015t024626-0ubuntu1_i386.deb

This is fixed in the lastest version in the repositories for Jaunty: 0.7.1~rc4.20090316+bzr21-0ubuntu2.

Using the Encryption combo box, select "Weak (use with caution)" to use Single-DES encryption.

I have this same problem in both karmic and lucid.

The problem is that the vpn server doesn't require username and pass, only group.

So even if i use "weak" it is not working.

At this point, the CLI command works with if I "enable single DES" or if I issue the command with --enable-1des when it asks me for the user and pass, just press enter and it works.

But not through network-manager.

I have exactly the same problem on lucid as described by Boynas.

Boynas, tuXzero, please open a separate bug on this issue and add the number here. The issue you're describing seems to be a different problem than using single DES encryption.
