This is clearly a bug in GTK+, which should be updated to use a newer libtool

I just completed compiling gtk+ with jhbuild on 8.10.

a. glib was missing a local copy of libtool, so I put the 8.10 copy (version 2.2.4) and it worked just fine.
b. gtk+'s local copy of libtool produced a corrupted intermediate file. I simply replaced the local copy with the system one (version 2.2.4) and it compiled fine.
