Bug Description

I have Ubuntu 8.10 64-bit Desktop Edition dual-booted with Windows on a 64-bit AMD Athlon64 4800+ and Gigabyte S-Series 780G motherboard. While the startup and shutdown work normally the restart takes too long. Please suggest.
