Release file for 'intrepid' (not intrepid-updates' keeps getting updated (and date is updated too)

Bug Description

Looking at

http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/intrepid/Release

it seem like the Release file is updated for a released distro and the date is kept getting updated too.

This is a problem because the code in synaptic/gnome-app-install that figures out when the support ends is relying on the fact that a released distribution is frozen and the release file date does not change anymore.

If you fix it, please "rewind" the date in the release file for intrepid stable as well (if possible) so that the support time calculations in synaptic/gnome-app-install will be correct.

Looks like it's happening for all distroseries, not just Intrepid.

We think this is because there was a package deleted in the publishing cycle just before the series was promoted to the "current" state, and the domination process never had a chance to run.

This is obviously still a bug, so we'll prevent the Release file from updating, but you might want to avoid deleting packages so close to release :)
