Bug Description
I was running the hardware test on the install CD for ubuntu-8.10 (To see if all hardware was detected before an install) and I got this error. I actually cannot tell if this is the same or different than some bug already reported. This is after discovering that the WIFI on my machine could not see my network.
More importantly, since this bug effects communications, how will you update it on the install CD? Those may be frozen since release. How will I know I can safely upgrade?
Sorry for the wordiness. I am a newbie.
