Bug Description

This problem is found with Inkscape v0.46 of a xubuntu 8.10 desktop. To repeat the findings, first open Inkscape, click on menu Help\About Memory, then, either File\Open or File\Import, browse to /usr/share/icons/gnome/scalable, and click into any of the folder, single click on each of the svg files to preview, you can find with each click, the memory will bump by 1 to 3M, and keeps increasing; the longer you browse, the more it consumes. If you click "cancel", this memory will not release.

This problem even appears when the "Enable preview" checkbox in the import/open dialog is off.

I can confirm that there is a memory leak if Show Preview is On,
no memory leak if Preview is Off.
