Slider doesn't forward if write access isn't given

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Simply put if your playing a file (MP3 in my case) that you only have read access to, the slider or any other method to forward/reverse in the song doesn't work. The workaround was easy, I gave myself write access but not everybody (limited access) could do this. After the workaround I found that 90% of the files that wouldn't forward/reverse before now did so. Not sure what's going with the other 10%.

thanks for the report, that works fine for me, does totem does the same for you? could you get a rhythmbox log with rhythmbox --debug &> rhythmbox-debug.txt and attach it to the report? thanks.

Ok added the debug report, also one on the offending files to see if it can be duplicated. It may just be a problem with the file not rhythmbox. Just tried it with Rhythmbox 0.11.6svn20081008-0ubuntu4.2 from backports, and still have the issue.

do you still get the issue? where is stored the file, locally or on a server? the log is almost empty, did you have rhythmbox running while getting it? could you get a new one?

I haven't seen this issue in a while now. I'm using Rhythmbox 0.11.6svn20081008-0ubuntu4.3. The file was stored locally. Checked the new debug log now that it works against the old on and no difference. If I find another song with this problem I'll submit another debug-report to this bugfile.
