Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

I am using amarok version 1.4.10 with KDE 4, kubuntu Interpid.
My problem:

When I connect my ipod nano to the computer, I can easily connect to the ipod and see files, delete them etc.
But amarok cannot recognize my ipod and still shows No Device Available.

Expected behavior: amarok will recognize my ipod and I will be able to see my collection.

It worked OK with lower versions of amarok.

I can confirm this also in the Gnome desktop. Amarok pops up a message asking to run "dcop kded mediamanager fullList" in a console, which fails with a "call failed" message.

In older versions it used to recognise properly my iPod (1st gen Nano).

Oh, I see. It's relying on a KDE3 component that is no longer in Intrepid to do the iPod mounting. This should be fixed with Amarok 2.0.1.1. http://www.kubuntu.org/news/amarok-2.0.1.1

Jitka/Miguel:

Please test with the latest Amarok and Ubuntu. If the issue still exists, let us know what version numbers you were using for Amarok with ''apt-cache policy amarok'' and what version iPod you were trying to connect.

Thanks!

I think this issue stems partly from running a KDE3 app in KDE4 and partly from running a KDE app in Gnome. Please provide the desktop environment you're running Amarok in as well as the above pieces of information.

Thanks!
