Bug Description

1) lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu Vivid Vervet (development branch)
Release: 15.04

2) apt-cache policy evince
evince:
  Installed: 3.14.1-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 3.14.1-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 3.14.1-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ vivid/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) What is expected to happen is when one opens the following attachment, it does so near instantly:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/poppler/+bug/294466/+attachment/409709/+files/05-Normalizacao.pdf

4) What happens is it takes ~7-9 seconds to render each page. In Adobe Reader 11.x and PDF viewer built into Firefox it takes less than a second.

Thanks for the bug report.

I experience a large CPU usage directly after opening the pdf (lasting 3-8 seconds), but it does not spike again when going to the other pages.

Could you please attach the complete valgrind log?

I can confirm this with poppler 0.8.7 in Intrepid, using Okular.

Adding callgrind output as requested.

The process of running with valgrind is so slow I couldn't actually scroll to other pages, but it already shows the functions responsible for the cpu usage.

I should probably mention I am on Hardy Heron. Someone already confirmed it occurs on Intrepid too.
