I'm just getting set up for Jaunty, and for what ever reason during an update it tried to install lilo

same here on my amd64 sys , in mycase it requested I run the post install script before reboot but otherwise completed the install .
I purged it before reboot .

Lilo was installed today via the upgrades, yet I already have grub running.

I also got lilo installed even though I've been using grub all the time in intrepid etc.

this bug in not present in ubuntu 8.10

I don't understand Juan's comment, or why this was marked "fix released". No, this bug is not present in 8.10. It's present in 9.04 as the description indicates. Since 9.04 > 8.10, this is still a bug and still needs fixing.

seems that linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic recommends "lilo (>=19.1) | grub" but if grub is installed why does update manager install lilo?
