activating network blank the screen for 10 seconds

Bug Description

Im on the ubuntu dapper flight 3 live cd. I just activated my cable internet connection with network-admin and when I clicked «activate», my screen went blank for about 10 to 15 seconds. Thats not very long but enough to be disturbing. I really dont see what could be the link between network and screen.

it happens when I press the button OK after activating my internet connection.

Do you still have that issue? Does it happen if gnome-screensaver doesn't run? Does the clock change when you get connected?
