I ran the package upgrade manager on the newest (as of 3 Nov 2008) Intrepid live CD release and it crashed trying to install this. Also, now the update manager is frozen and unresponsive.

Is the media, you're trying to upgrade from, a CD or a memory stick ?

.I´ve the same Error and I used a Memory Stick as media (created with the Ubuntu 8.10 amd64 iso)
