Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

Hi,
I own an Toshiba Satellite SA50-532.
It has an Intel shared memory graphics card (lspci below). The laptop has a S-VIDEO output connector.

If I call xrandr from command line no output device TV is listed, regardless if S-VIDEO cable is connected or not
(xrandr output below).
No output is shown on the TV screen, as expected if no TV output is found.

I use the xorg.conf found below.

I hope all necessary information is provided. If not please ask.

Thank you for reporting this bug. Can you atttach the following?
- Output of lscpi -vvnn (not -vvvn, -vvnn is more human readable)
- /var/log/Xorg.0.log

The same goes for bug 292802...

Does it make a difference if you move away your xorg.conf? Most of what you have specified there should be autodetectable with the new versions of the driver.

I moved the xorg.conf aside. This makes no difference in the behavior, expcept that the default bit depth is now 24bit.

I have the same problem with a HP nx9040. I read somewhere that tv out doesn't work with 855GM using the "intel" driver. It did work with the "i810" driver but it's not available with Ubuntu any more.
