lock/log out and menu Icons in KDE task bar wrong

Bug Description
Kubuntu 8.10 - the lock/log out icons I've docked to the bottom right are wrong, as is the icon for the menu, that appears to be just a huge left pointing arrow.
System settings, appearance says the style is 'oxygen' and icons 'crystal SVG'. Changing the latter too 'oxygen' fixes that but the spam/ham buttons in Kontact then turn it question marks - 2nd attachment.

This is not a true dup., as the linked issue doesn't seem to mention that setting the oxygen icon set breaks Kontact/Kmail.
