KDE System Settings cannot detect my sound card after Intrepid upgrade

Bug Description

After the upgrade from Kubuntu Hardy to Intrepid. My sound card disappeared from the output devices in System Settings -> Sound

The strange thing is that sound is working and Alsa detects my card correctly (HDA Intel), however it fails to appear in the System Settings.

This only affects the new Amarok 2 beta packages in which sound disappeared; however sound works as expected in other apps and in the kde desktop in general.

Assigning this to the package kde-systemsettings. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Also are you using KDE 3 or KDE 4?
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.

Is this still an issue in more recent versions of Kubuntu?
